Additional Information
Sweetgrass Fragrance Oil is a fresh, clean unisex scent with the perfect green notes. Not "perfume-y" & absolutely fabulous out of the bottle. It's like standing in a field of grass (but not that sharp green lawn grass). This is as close to a true native sweetgrass that I've smelled.

Directions & Ingredients
International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI):

Common Name Ingredient Listing (FDA Approved):

BATH & BODY PRODUCTS: 1-3% is considered the general "skin safe" ratio for lotions, creams, bath salts, fizzies, scrubs, body butter, salves, shampoo, conditioner, body spray, shower gel, etc.

COLD PROCESS (CP) SOAP: 0.7 - 1 oz per lb. Delicate florals should be batched at cool temps.

If a fragrance doesn't note it's compatible in HP, is it? Typically, if it's CP compatible, then yes, it's HP compatible. Usually, the exception is fragile florals (jasmine, gardenias, etc) and essential oils. Add fragrance oils last, after the cook phase or at trace and right before pouring into mold...this way there is less evaporation from the prolonged heat. However, you must stir this rather thick mixture very thoroughly.(For both Hot process in the oven, in a pot, or in a crockpot).

FIXING A SEIZE! Hot-Process is a great way to fix a CP seize in the pot.
Hot processing on the stove or in a double boiler setup to save a seized batch. You will typically need to add an extra ounce of water per lb of soap to make it easier to stir and to smooth into your mold, but this is an excellent way to fix a batch that has seized. You don't want to "cook" the bottom of your pot, so keep heat very low or use a double boiler to ensure your soap doesn't burn. Add your extra water and heat; it will go into the gel phase fairly quickly and only needs to "cook" a little longer to make pouring into the mold easier. It will not be liquid like CP soap, but it should be made fluid enough to smooth into a mold without lumps and air bubbles. Patience here is the key, as you will need to cure as long as with CP simply to allow the extra water to evaporate fully. You may choose to use less water to get a harder bar faster, BUT this will result in a thicker "glob" of soap that will be difficult to smooth into your mold, so the final texture of your soap may suffer.

MELT & POUR (MP) SOAP: 1 TBS per lb, up to .5 oz per lb or 1-3%

PARAFFIN WAX: 1 oz per lb. (Average usage of fragrance oil is approx. 6 - 7% per lb.)

SOY WAX: 1 oz per lb. unless otherwise noted

Note: The above are general guidelines. Individual testing and formulating is necessary

COMMENTS:  I want sure what to expect of this scent, not knowing what sweetgrass smells like...but the reviews were so complimentary I thought I'd give it a go. Straight from the bottle the smell is fabulous and in my CP soap it is a sweet, lightly green almost melon smell. I'll definitely purchase this scent again!

COMMENTS:  This fragrance smells exactly like sweetgrass or even sweet fresh cut grass. It did accelerate a little but I still managed to do swirls. It’s nice and strong too! Not sure what % I was supposed to use it at because nothing is written about it but I wouldn’t go over 5%

COMMENTS:  I love this scent! I wasn't sure it would really smell like sweetgrass, so I only ordered 1 oz. I'm back for a bigger bottle.

COMMENTS:  I tried this is M&P and it is very close to native sweet grass and I know what sweet grass smells like (my husband's family sends us some every year from the reservation in North Dakota). Sweet grass is very fragrant and clean smelling. I can' wait to try it in CP!

COMMENTS:  I have to say being Native and being around sweet grass always, I was skeptical. I made my lotion and said ok, lets have a test. I had family and friends smell some braided sweet grass, then my lotion. Success! Buying More. Love the sweetness and clean smell! Buying more!

COMMENTS:  HALLELUJAH! This FO is for sweetgrass enthusiasts who have been repeatedly let down by "Sweetgrass" FO's in the past, as well as for anyone unfamiliar w/the aroma of real sweetgrass, but have been repulsed by the scent of it in FO's from other suppliers (I promise REAL sweetgrass doesn't smell like that!). Honestly, I gave up on "Sweetgrass" FO's years ago. I got sick (Literally!) of ending up with yet another FO that smelled just like urinal cakes! Nighttime cleaning jobs to help pay my way through college burned that unmistakable odor into my memory & there is NO WAY I'm ever going to incorporate that smell into a batch of soap! So far, Elements has been so spot-on with every FO I've received, I decided to give "Sweetgrass" one last chance. THIS IS OUTSTANDING! OOB, the sweet notes are REALLY dominate, but under those notes, I could easily smell the aroma of real, honest-to-goodness sweetgrass! In CP, those "heavy-on-the-sweet" notes mellow beautifully though, leaving the most dead-on aroma of authentic sweetgrass I have EVER smelled in a FO! This fragrance makes me want to do a happy dance, & it behaves flawlessly in CP too! No A, R, S or D, and it allowed more than enough time to easily create a 5-color design! If you've been disappointed by "Sweetgrass" FO's in the past, THIS is the one you've been looking for! KUDOS ELEMENTS, once again, you knocked it out of the park!

COMMENTS:  This is the best 'grass' scent I've found. The touch of sweetness really makes it appealing. This sells well for me at craft shows. People are skeptical until they sniff it, then they buy. It smells very much like the prairies of the great plains, or what is left of them! Mix this with peppermint for a fun fragrance for horse people!
