Additional Information
This Lavender oil is the closest match we've ever found to the flower. We have tested many, but finally we found one that actually smells of lavender and not powdery, little old ladies. This fragrance oil is in very high demand for all toiletries, not just soap making. Of course lavender is a must for potpourri, sachets and room fresheners too! *Our most popular fragrance!

Directions & Ingredients
International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI):

Common Name Ingredient Listing (FDA Approved):

BATH & BODY PRODUCTS: 1-3% is considered the general "skin safe" ratio for lotions, creams, bath salts, fizzies, scrubs, body butter, salves, shampoo, conditioner, body spray, shower gel, etc.

COLD PROCESS (CP) SOAP: 0.7 - 1 oz per lb. Delicate florals should be batched at cool temps.

If a fragrance doesn't note it's compatible in HP, is it? Typically, if it's CP compatible, then yes, it's HP compatible. Usually, the exception is fragile florals (jasmine, gardenias, etc) and essential oils. Add fragrance oils last, after the cook phase or at trace and right before pouring into mold...this way there is less evaporation from the prolonged heat. However, you must stir this rather thick mixture very thoroughly.(For both Hot process in the oven, in a pot, or in a crockpot).

FIXING A SEIZE! Hot-Process is a great way to fix a CP seize in the pot.
Hot processing on the stove or in a double boiler setup to save a seized batch. You will typically need to add an extra ounce of water per lb of soap to make it easier to stir and to smooth into your mold, but this is an excellent way to fix a batch that has seized. You don't want to "cook" the bottom of your pot, so keep heat very low or use a double boiler to ensure your soap doesn't burn. Add your extra water and heat; it will go into the gel phase fairly quickly and only needs to "cook" a little longer to make pouring into the mold easier. It will not be liquid like CP soap, but it should be made fluid enough to smooth into a mold without lumps and air bubbles. Patience here is the key, as you will need to cure as long as with CP simply to allow the extra water to evaporate fully. You may choose to use less water to get a harder bar faster, BUT this will result in a thicker "glob" of soap that will be difficult to smooth into your mold, so the final texture of your soap may suffer.

MELT & POUR (MP) SOAP: 1 TBS per lb, up to .5 oz per lb or 1-3%

PARAFFIN WAX: 1 oz per lb. (Average usage of fragrance oil is approx. 6 - 7% per lb.)

SOY WAX: 1 oz per lb. unless otherwise noted

Note: The above are general guidelines. Individual testing and formulating is necessary

COMMENTS:  This is a strong fragrance. But after reading the reviews I’m a little confused as to why people say this smells like lavender. It smells EXACTLY like a powdery old lady. I was so excited to use this after reading all the good reviews. The scent never changed and it stinks!! Like a lavender you would get in a dollar store
PRODUCT USED IN:   Soap - Cold Process
• Scent retention
• Take away the powdery notes

COMMENTS:  I use this in Hot Process soap (after it is cooked) and it smells very true to Lavender. Great to mix with other scents as well.

COMMENTS:  This is the best lavender I have ever used in CP soap. No discoloration no acceleration and scent holds up very well. Much better in cured soap than oob. I will be reordering.

COMMENTS:  This is a nice lavender. For the price difference between this and the essential oil, if you're on a budget, I would go with this. :)

COMMENTS:  This performed well with no issues in cp soap. I didn't think it smelled anything like lavender essential oil though. I smelled it right along side my yl lavender eo and it was way different! I actually think this is a dead ringer for the original bath oil scent from Avon. So if you like that smell this will do!

COMMENTS:  I DON'T KKNOW HOW YOU DID IT BUT THIS SMELLS LIKE MY EXPENSINVE LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL. I have tried so, so, so many lavender fragrances that have not been even close. This is my new substitute for lavender essential oil. The real deal is too expensive and I have used tons of it. Thanks for saving me a lot of money!!!!!

COMMENTS:  By far the best Lavender I have ever smelled or used. I am not fond of Lavender EO, gives me a headache. But as a massage therapist and body product crafter, always being asked for something "lavender". To me this is better than the EO and any other Lavender FO I've ever purchased. It blends up lovely with so many other aroma oils and all the products I've made including Hot Process, it holds true to its scent. Thanks Elements!

COMMENTS:  At first I didn't like this in my HP soap. I scented at .70 per pound and didn't think it smelled like real lavender as it was curing. This morning, I smelled it again after 3 weeks of cure time and I love it. Great lavender scent, so don't judge it OOB and just after making. Give it time to cure and it becomes a very smooth lovely lavender.
