Foaming Bath Whip - Elements Bath & Body
Bases Bath & Body Bases Bath & Body - (You Are Here - P17651)

Additional Information
Foaming Bath Whip makes a luxurious, creamy and stable foundation for a variety of products such as facial & body scrubs, shaving creams, layered parfaits, bath meringues. The only limit is your imagination! In it's original state, it has a thicker bath butter consistency but doubles in volume when whipped. It does this all the while remaining stable and maintaining its butter-like creaminess. In just a few minutes, the base can be transformed into an entirely different product, just by introducing additives or by whipping. It leaves the skin feeling deeply cleansed, rejuvenated, and appealingly soft.

Appearance: Thick consistency. Off-white. Unscented but base may have some natural odor based on the raw ingredients.
Shelf Life: Minimum 1 year when stored sealed in cool, dry place away from light

Directions & Ingredients
International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI):
Deionized Water, Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sorbitol, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Common Name Ingredient Listing (FDA Approved):
Deionized Water, Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sorbitol, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Use unscented (as-is) or add our Fragrances or Essential Oils at a ratio of up to 3% (use 1% or less for facial products). This is a cold mix base, meaning that heating is not recommended.

Simply add fragrance and/or color, then process by whipping with an old-fashioned electric mixer with double blades or electric stand mixer with a paddle attachment. Start with enough product to fill the volume around the beaters and begin whipping at a slow speed to break up the base. At the slow speed, add your additives. Increase the speed of the mixer to high and watch for the base to double in volume. Warning: Over-whipping more than double the original volume will cause the base to collapse. No solubilizer needed.

Add color by using our Water-soluble liquid colorants. Add up to 5% carrier oils and/or up to 10% butters but keep in mind that the greater the percentage of natural oils and butters, the more the consistency of lather will change.

Testing in small batches is always recommended.

Shea and macadamia increase the viscosity while also increasing the moisturizing ability. Avocado and hemp will decrease the viscosity but also increase the moisturizing ability. Please note that graininess or clumping may occur if you add powder or solid additives. The addition of oils can sometimes cause clumping. Pouring additives slowly while mixing may result in a smoother consistency. If product becomes grainy, you can warm it just enough to make it soft and then whip it to have a smoother consistency.

Exfoliants - Add up to 75% percent of any exfoliant such as Bath Salts, Sugar, or Coffee Bean grounds. A 50/50 mixture of Medium and Fine Sea Salt Grain Bath Salts turn our Foaming Bath Whip into a wonderful, deep exfoliating scrub.
Jojoba Beads - Colorful Jojoba Beads can be added to the base to give stunning color-speckled appearance while providing light exfoliation. Ideal for facial products.
Other Bases/Additives - Try adding small amounts of other bases for a variety of effects and uses.

COMMENTS:  Absolute BEST foaming bath whip I've ever worked with! Fluffy & WONDERFUL texture/consistency & so easy to customize!! I make shave cream for my husband & he said this was the absolute best batch I've made him to-date (the only thing I changed was the bath whip base)! If you're looking for an AWESOME shaving cream recipe, feel free to give mine a try... My husband LOVES it! For 1LB BW Base, you'll need: 0.5oz refined shea, avocado OR coffee butter (melted); 0.5oz Green Tea Extract, Calendula Extract, Hydrolyzed Oat OR Hydrolyzed Quinoa Protein; 0.5oz Rice Bran, Sunflower, Rosehip, Jojoba, Hemp Seed OR Sweet Almond Oil; 5ml water soluble preservative (Optional. I prefer to add it since my husband dampens his shave brush.); 1TBS white kaolin OR bentonite clay (*Make a paste with this in the carrier oil so it's easier/smoother to incorporate.), 1% FO of choice (Check IFRA). Incorporate these additives as Elements instructs above, package & label accordingly, then enjoy the fluffy, whipped goodness! I'll never use another base for my recipe again... OUTSTANDING product!!!
