Lip Balm Tray FAQ's:

Q. How do the trays work?
A. Insert top of tube into bottom of tray, pour lip base on top (ensuring that each tube receives adequate amount of balm), scrape excess and allow to cool. Once the lip balm solidifies, remove tubes from tray by pulling out with a twisting motion, place caps on tubes & you’re done!

Q. Are the Lip Balm Filling Trays durable & what are they made of?
A. Yes, they're durable & precision molded from food grade, high density polyethylene (HDPE), the same plastic material from which things like kitchen cutting boards are made.

Q. Is it safe to wash my Lip Balm Filling Tray in the dishwasher?
A. If you have a dishwasher that has a known history of melting plastic on the bottom rack, use only the top rack. Washing trays in the dishwasher may cause warping or damage so hand washing is recommended.

Q. What do I use to scrape off the excess lip balm?

A. We offer Flat Spatula Scrapers

I love everything about these - except that the tubes do not come flush to the top. So - I end up spending as much trimming an excess 1/8" of balm off of the top of each and every tube as I do filling the tubes. So close to being a great design.
~ Thanks for your feedback, Gina. The manufacturer purposely designed these to allow excess balm at the top and we've found it as a benefit. After the balm cools and before we remove the tubes from the tray, we use a heat gun to "smooth" each tube. Make sure to thoroughly allow cooling and when you remove the tube, you'll have a perfectly formed balm. You could continue to trim the excess, but we've found that they look beautiful with that extra and customers love the idea of getting "more for their money". Hope this is helpful!
